Happy new year!
I’ve refreshed this site, with new intention to move my writing forward this year. I’m excited about a few new efforts:
- Finding a home to publish my short story “Remembering Ravenhelm,” which earned honorable mention in the L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers of the Future Contest last year. This story weaves elements of fantasy into the main character’s exploration of grief, family, and accepting the inevitability of change.
- Writing a new short piece of speculative fiction to submit to the same contest. This one also focuses on family dynamics.
- Continuing my latest novel, where the ex-wife and ex-girlfriends of a beloved superhero team up to save him. So far, I’m 6,000 words in….lots left to go!
- Determine a renewed purpose for this blog. I’ve been a professional writer for over 15 years. Surely there’s something useful I can share 🙂
That said, I remain a full-time employed mom who spends most of her days commuting to work, shuttling kids to activities, and trying to figure out where to squeeze in a dinner that’s not dino nuggets. I’ll also be writing/playing music and frolicking through the Cosmere®. (I’m currently reading Wind and Truth.)
