2026 Updates

I had big plans in my early 2025 post. In reality, I’ve started two different new jobs after mass layoffs. I’ve been focused on my family and my health. I’ve been renovating a charming but needy old home and overgrown yard. I’ve submitted my short story “Remembering Ravenhelm” to several targeted literary magazines, resulting in two “you made it to the final round but weren’t selected, so please submit again soon” type of responses. I’m slowly making it through my second novel (now on chapter 11 of approximately 30).

My refusal to use generative AI in my creative writing or these posts likely puts me at a disadvantage on speed and quantity. But that’s okay 🙂 I want my creative writing for me.

My next post isn’t focused on literature per se, but on the influence of my favorite band. They’ve powered me and encouraged my own art for the last 8 years.

I hope to have news again sooner than 17 months!
